| Esquire issued British modern jazz records from 1948. Until the mid 1950s they were 78rpm format. Label catalogue numbers were prefixed : 10-12- for 78rpm records (listed here).....32- for 12" LPs....20- for 10" LPs.....EP- for 7" extended play records. In the mid 1980s they re-issued a 'treasure chest' of earlier releases, in LP format with an 'S' issue number. details. The covers were highly regarded by some and collected as "Art". |
